For those of us who have a great deal of products in the bathroom, storage is a top priority when designing a bathroom. But in many cases, space is limited in the bathroom, only complicating the storage conundrum.

However, with a few expert tips, you can fit everything into even the smallest bathroom spaces.

If you are designing a bathroom, make sure the walls around the house are thick, says Lovedy Barbatelli, owner of Barbatelli Signature Interiors in Boulder, Colo.

"I always recommend Robern medicine cabinets that recess back in the wall four, six or eight inches," she says. "They are really good, and some of them have electrical outlets and other things so you can put your hair dryer in there."

Additionally, shelving above the toilet is always a great way to add some storage to the bathroom. This space can easily be used for things such as makeup, hairspray, towels and toilet paper. "Those are really good, and depending on how neat you are, you can have open storage for towels there," says Barbatelli.

For smaller bathroom products such as Q-tips and cotton balls, it is nice to have small decorative bottles on top of the sink, says Marilyn Akins owner and decorator at Marilyn Akins designs in Oak Brook, Ill.

She also suggests using organization products not meant for the bathroom to store products. "You can use a waste basket to keep all the toilet paper.

"I love the small rectangular and square storage drawer inserts. I put my mascara in one, and eye shadow in another, and on and on," she says.

No matter how much, or how little space you have, there are ways to add storage and organization to your bathroom. Use these quick fixes to get as much space as possible out of your bathroom space.
