The latest Disney princess gets a gown all her own
By Timothy R. Schulte CTW Features
Since its April 2007 debut, the Kirstie Kelly for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings line has given brides a big-day look inspired by from favorite animated princesses, from Snow White to Sleeping Beauty.
Now, a live-action princess joins the mix, with a Giselle-inspired gown from the Amy Adams character from “Enchanted,” the modern-day fairy tale set in New York City.
According to gown designer Kirstie Kelly: “The Giselle gown has a Manhattan-like sophistication. A heroine like Giselle combines a love of nature with a sensibility for the contemporary, and this is clearly the inspiration for this very special gown.”
The strapless mermaid-style gown features cascading leaves of hand-placed organza and net, a ruched bodice, satin underskirt and tulle accents.
The Giselle gown, like Kelly’s previous Cinderella gown, is a “Platinum” gown in the collection that will contribute $125 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for each sold.
